Business Services

The local authority provides a wide range of business-facing services, from the issuing of licenses and planning advice to Town Centre Management and Trading Standards. Working within a regulatory framework, our aim is to provide a fast and efficient service to the local business community, with the emphasis on support and advice, and on consultation rather than enforcement.

The available business services have been divided into five broad areas of support. Under each heading you will find a brief outline of the various services within that category. Behind each outline is a more detailed description of the service provided, including contact details.

Some business services are provided by our partners, or by contracted agents, or through government-initiated programmes. These services have not been separately listed, and are included alongside internal council-supplied services. We recognise that business clients are more interested in the quality of delivery than the source of supply.
