Resident Visitor Parking
From the 1st of August 2008 there will be a change in the conditions for the allocation of Visitor Vouchers.
A maximum of 350 hours will be available per household in a 12-month period.
The 1st 50 hours will be allocated FREE of charge. A further 300 hours may be purchased at a cost of £20.00 per 100 hours within a 12- month period.
The decision to reduce the number of free visitor's vouchers was part of the council's Budget Process and a Statutory Consultation was published on the proposal, which ended 21st May 2008.
It is important to note you will still receive 50 hours free parking. The £20.00 charge for a supplementary 100 hours is good value for money at just 20p per hour as opposed to parking in a pay & display bay where it can cost up to £1.90 per hour depending on the zone in which the vehicle is parked.
We remain one of the few authorities to subsidise free hours
Our aim through the Smarter Travel Sutton plan is to reduce the number of car journeys in the borough, cut congestion, and improve the environment for residents.
The revenue from the changes will be re-invested in Road Safety Schemes.
