DIY Planet

DIY Planet Repairs is Ken Livingston’s environmental project to tackle climate change. It aims to get the people of London to reduce their waste, greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint by recycling and using energy efficient products.

You can order a free toolkit full of energy saving tips and gizmos, and look at the virtual home to see where you could save energy. There are also links to companies that will give you cheaper insulation, as well as a cash back scheme by the Mayor of London and British Gas, guaranteeing you £100 once you have had insulation fitted.

The green homes Concierge service can allow you to make your home greener, warmer, cleaner, quieter and cheaper! They provide home energy audits, help in sourcing green products, and help in planning and organising work to make your green home a reality.

green guardian awards

Green Guardian Awards
Do you know a family, which is passionate about recycling, a business that works hard to reduce energy consumption, a school which has encouraged pupils to walk in each day?

If so, why not nominate them for a Green Guardian Award?

LICENSING

Licensing of premises, activities and people engaged in activities which impact on public safety and health (e.g. sale of alcohol, public entertainment, night cafes, street trading and special treatments).

LOCAL IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

Sutton’s Local Implementation Plan (LIP) sets out how the Council intends to implement the Mayor for London’s Transport Strategy (MTS).  It presents the Council’s full range of transport initiatives and projects, and shows how local transport issues will be addressed.  The LIP describes programmes and major schemes planned or underway in the 2007/8 financial year and sets out proposals for the subsequent three years.  Sutton’s LIP has also been subjected to a Strategic Environmental Assessment. (This ensures environmental considerations are taken into account).
