SUN Project Tasks
The SUN Project consists of 10 tasks, which are summarised below. Please click on each task for further information (please note that this site is being updated regularly and information for some tasks may not yet be available):

Initial Project meeting |

Development of urban biodiversity strategies |
Research and report on best practice urban planning strategies for biodiversity. Development of biodiversity strategies by all partners (except Global to Local). |

Stakeholder identification |
Build on existing stakeholder networks and identify new stakeholders. Second project meeting held. Web page development. Revision of stakeholder identification methods. |

4 |
Public consultation and awareness |
Organise and deliver the first stakeholder awareness workshops. Revise workshop approaches. Organise and deliver second workshops. Assess and report on workshops. |

5 |
Establishing local Biodiversity Action Plan Forums |
Initiate BAP forum programme and process. Review BAP forum approach. Continue with BAP forum process. Report on approaches to BAP forum management produced and disseminate. |

6 |
Implementation of Biodiversity Action Plans |
Develop BAP implementation programme. Undertake implementation of projects (one project in each of five categories). Review the effectiveness of programmes. Undertake fine-tuned second round of implementation projects (one project in each of five categories). Report on programme approaches produced and disseminated. |

7 |
Action Plan reporting |
Review existing approaches to BAP reporting. Develop standardised approach to report writing and produce annual BAP report. Gain stakeholder feedback on report. |

8 |
Project evaluation |
Evaluation procedures developed. Produce evaluation report on the quality of procedures leading to final outcomes. Produce report on the quality of outcomes and dissemination activities. |

Task dissemination |
Formulation of a Communication Strategy. Develop a SUN Project website. Disseminate technical reports on outcomes of task actions and related guidance. Quarterly project newsletters emailed out to networks and interested parties. Organisation of a concluding conference. |

10 |
Task management and reporting to the EC |
Submit Progress Reports to the EC and Monitoring Team every six months. Submit first, second, third, fourth and fifth Interim Reports. Submit Final Report. |
