Biodiversity Strategies - Task 2
The objective of Task 2 is for each partner (except Global to Local) to develop a local biodiversity strategy. The strategy will provide the framework for the stakeholder participation and biodiversity action planning processes by each partner.
There are two specific actions for this task. These are:
1. To research existing best practice regarding the development of urban planning strategies for biodiversity by local authorities as part of the urban planning and development process, and to identify links between biodiversity strategies and other planning processes such as Local Agenda 21. 2. To develop an overall urban planning biodiversity strategy. To ensure that all nationally, regionally or locally significant habitats and species present in the partners' areas are identified and an overall approach to action planning for these species and habitats is identified. Partners with existing strategies will need to revise approaches in line with best practice.
