Glass Recycling Collection Services

We collect all glass bottles and jars but not window panes, oven proof or tableware glass.

To recycle your glass:
• Collect your glass in the blue bin we have provided
• Put the bin out – beside your wheelie bin – on the same day as your other recyclables
Remember to remove the lids, caps and corks – these go in your brown bin.
If you would like an additional bin please call 020 8770 5070. more...

Garden Waste Collection

We only collect garden waste from the new Green Garden Waste Sacks. Please don’t use your old clear plastic garden waste bags as they will not be collected. Garden waste must not be put in the brown wheeled bins

To have your garden waste collected:
• You need to purchase a garden waste sack – you can have up to three per household. You can buy them from your local library, civic offices or by calling 020 8770 5070
• Each 75 litre Garden Waste Sack costs £35 for a 12 month collection, which equates to £1.35 per fortnightly collection.
• Collect your garden waste and put it out on the same day as your other recyclables
You can still take your garden waste, free of charge, to the Reuse and Recycle Centre at Kimpton Parkway or to the Viridor Waste Management site in Beddington Lane. Opening times are shown below.more...

Reuse & Recycling Centre, Kimpton Park Way: Mondays Closed; Tuesday - Saturday: 9am - 5pm; Sunday, 9am - 2pm
Viridor Waste Management, 105 Beddington Lane: Weekends only: Saturday 11am-5pm; Sunday and Bank Holiday: 9am-5pm

Brown Wheeled Bins

Extra Brown Bin Waste
We will no longer collect overflows from your brown wheelie bin. This means that if you have a
brown wheelie bin, we will only collect the rubbish inside the bin – we will not collect black sacks or other rubbish bags beside your bin. Garden waste must not be put in the brown wheeled bins

We recognise that some homes simply have no space for wheelie bins – flats for example. In this case
– each household can put out two waste sacks. If you have bulky items, or need a special collection, please call the council on 020 8770 5070.

Charges For Replacement Brown Bins
Please look after your wheeled bins. Replacement brown wheeled bins will be charged for unless they have been damaged by the collection service or through long term use. Green wheeled recycling bins will still be provided free of charge. more...
