Sutton's Workplace Travel Plan - encouraging staff to think about the way they travel

Travel Smart

The travel plan is a 5 year strategy which co-ordinates different policies and practices that affect staff travel and recommends key actions the Council should consider to encourage the use of sustainable transport.

The action plan encourages the council to improve travel choice for staff by considering installing better facilities, promoting and implementing incentives, while also considering car parking charges, reduced parking provision and the review of essential and casual car users with the view to a fairer system.

We need your help to reduce driver alone car journeys. Just remember, a lot of small changes equal a big difference!

Smarter Travel Sutton is a £5million, 3-year project that'll help us make our Borough better by changing the types of transport we use. So whether that means cycling to work once a week instead of driving, or simply being a little more bus friendly, we can all play a part in making Sutton a cleaner, greener and healthier place to live.

In partnership with the Metropolitan Police, London Borough of Sutton are continually campaigning to reduce anti-social behaviour and traffic offences. Our Road Safety Unit offers training and regularly run publicity campaigns to help make Sutton a safer borough.
