Freedom Passes - Older Persons

Freedom passes are available to Sutton residents over 60.

Eligibility is now increasing in line with the pensions reform.

Applications must be made in person at any local Library, Civic Offices or any Local Access Point ('One Stop Shop') within the London Borough of Sutton. Before visiting, please check the opening times of your local Library, Civic Offices or Local Access Point.

You will need to provide ONE item from each of the following three sections:
(It is not necessary to complete a form in advance)

Proof of Name & Age:
(These should be originals and not photocopies)

  • Letter of Pension Entitlement
  • Current Passport
  • Medical Card
  • Birth Certificate (unless your name has changed)
  • Current Driving Licence (paper or photocard)

Proof of Residential Address:

  • Current Council Tax bill/letter or payment book
  • Current Council or Housing Association rent book, statement or letter
  • Current television licence

If choosing from these options they must be dated within the last 3 months 

  • Residential Utility Bill, excluding mobile phone bills
  • Residential personal Bank/Building Society Statement
  • HM Revenue and Customs Letter
  • Department for Work and Pensions Letter
  • Occupational Pension Letter
  • Private Credit Card Statement

Photograph

ONE new passport style photograph taken within the last 12 months. You cannot use a photograph that was part of any old photo identity card.

Your photograph must be:

  • Colour and size 45mm x 35mm
  • A true likeness, showing your full face, facing forward
  • Taken against a plain, evenly lit and pale coloured background

Freedom Pass - New Eligibility Dates
