Freedom passes are available to Sutton residents with a permanent disability who meet the relevant criteria set out in the Transport Act.

The pass will look like this:

The Freedom Pass gives free travel on most public transport in London at any time (travel times on National Rail should be checked). From April 1st 2008 the new Bus Travel Act allowed the pass to be used on eligible bus services throughout England.
You can only apply from the London Borough of Sutton at Civic Offices, St Nicholas Way, Sutton SM1 1EA.
If your application is approved a letter will be sent to you asking you to attend Civic Offices to provide a photograph which will allow your pass to be produced. You must attend in person.

Permanent disability
Freedom Passes are issued in line with the central principle of the DDA definition. The types of disability that enable people to claim the statutory minimum are those which are permanent, or which have lasted at least 12 months and have a substantial effect on a person's ability to carry out normal day to day activities.
