Adults with HIV/AIDS
If HIV affects you or you are caring for someone with HIV you may benefit from support and assistance. Difficulties can often be addressed through self-help, and with the help of family members or friends. When this is not possible, or not working, we are there to help, by advising you of local services and assessing your needs to see if we can offer support.
If you need support or care organised through the Council, you will need to undertake an assessment and be eligible for Council organised services. We have a specialist care manager for people affected by HIV who will arrange this assessment.
If you are eligible, we can provide these support services, help you access these services, or provide a direct payment for you to purchase these services directly. The overall aim is to ensure that people remain as independent as possible in their own home and improve mobility and daily living:
- Help at home so that people can stay independent.
- Meals delivered to people's homes. For more information, follow this link: Meals on wheels
