Meals on Wheels

Adult Social Services and Housing are responsible for delivering hot meals to vulnerable people who have been assessed as needing this service in their own home.

This may be on a short or long-term basis. The hot meals service operates every day of the year with deliveries between 11.00 am and 2.00 pm. Meals currently cost £3.20 for a meal and sweet.

We aim to deliver the right meals to the right people at the right time.

You will need to have an Adult Social Services and Housing assessment to see if you are eligible for this service.

Becoming a Meals on Wheels Volunteer

Over 30 people a day work together to deliver the meals, of which the majority are volunteers. As well as delivering hot meals, they are in daily contact with vulnerable residents and can call in medical or other services when necessary.

Our menu features a wide variety of meals. Meals currently cost £3.20 for a meal and sweet. Where there is an additional assessed need a packed tea will be delivered with the meal. The meals are prepared ready for delivery by Adult Social Services and Housing.
