Library Membership
Information about joining our libraries and how to use them, including what you may loan and library charges.
Who can join?
Membership is free if you live in any London Borough, if you are at school, college or work in Sutton. Anyone else over 18 will need to pay an annual subscription. You will require two written proofs of name and address. Your card will be posted first class. Items can only be borrowed after receipt of your card.

Renewing itemsAll items except DVDs and videos can be renewed three times over the telephone, unless they are reserved. Renew OnlineTelephone 020 8409 7066 for the 24 hour automated renewal service or renew your items by telephoning your local library or online. | Finding what you needProfessional librarians and well trained library assistants are always happy to assist with enquiries. In addition, computerised catalogues listing the latest information on book stock are available in all libraries in the borough. |
ReservationsIf the item you require is not immediately available, you may reserve it for a nominal fee. We will then inform you when it is available. Items may be requested even if they are not currently held in the borough's book stock. See Library Charter. | FinesFines are charged on all overdue items borrowed on adult, teenage and children's (aged 5-14) tickets. |
