Oaks Sports Centre

In the centuries since then the area became extremely popular as a sporting venue among members of royalty. The famous horse race "The Oaks" now run at Epsom Race Course was named after the original manor house built on the property and, one of the later owners, the 12th Earl of Derby gave his name to that other famous race.
