What is Phoenix Active Pathways?
The Phoenix Active Pathways project aims to reduce health inequalities in the Roundshaw Community by providing physical activity opportunities to its residents. The project began delivering activities in July 2005. The project has a focus on improving physical activity levels amongst particular target groups including older people, young people, women, adults with disabilities and black and ethnic minority groups. The project has built strong partnerships with the PCT, Age Concern, Sutton Mencap, SCL, Sutton Carers and different Sports Clubs to offer a wide range of activities to the community. Since starting the project has received over 1500 visits to its sessions and has over 130 active members currently involved in the project attending 11 sessions per week.
