We aim ‘to provide opportunities for affordable, accessible, quality, sporting opportunities for the community and identified target groups.’
The Sports Development Team provides community outreach work undertaken as part of the Active Pathways Project based at the Phoenix Centre, the Positive Futures programme on the St Helier Estate, a Swimming Development Programme and Sports Specific & Target Group orientated programme.
The service reaches over 60,000 people annually, who are actively involved in a range of events and activities across Sutton through regular weekly sessions & coaching courses, various taster and turn-up sessions, holiday programmes and annual sporting events. London Youth Games 2008
Sutton storms to best finish in London Youth Games.
Sutton’s young athletes claimed fourth sport in the London Youth Games held in June and July this year.
Gold medals in tennis, girls’ gymnastics, boys swimming, boys disability swimming and Boys Judo, propelled the borough to its first top-five finish in the 30 years of the London-wide competition.
The London Youth Games is Europe’s largest youth sports events and involves all 33 London boroughs.

Sutton's team took part on Sunday, 13 April in Central London.

The Phoenix Active Pathways project aims to reduce health inequalities in the Roundshaw Community and surrounding areas by providing physical activity opportunities to its residents
Positive Futures
Positive Futures is a sports based inclusion project. The aim is to use sport to reduce anti-social behaviour, crime and drug misuse amongst 10 – 16 year olds living within the Northern Wards.
