The purpose of Adult Social Services & Housing is to promote social inclusion by providing equal access to services and targeting our resources to help services users to take a greater part in the life of the community.
Services provided are: care management, adult and older people’s social care (such as home care and day care), support for those with vision loss or sensory impairment, Intermediate care or interim care (following hospital stay), residential care housing provision, housing benefit and housing advice, sheltered housing and housing with support, regeneration and community work, transport, resource centres and employment support for adults with a physical disability, occupational therapy and equipment, meals, community alarm services, concessionary travel services.

Services are provided by Council staff and by organisations funded by the Council to provide services.
Social Care and Housing services are provided by the voluntary sector through Service Agreements and are commissioned from the independent sector. In particular Sutton Housing Partnership (an arms length management organisation) provides our housing management services.
We work very closely with our health service partners and some services are provided jointly, or are fully integrated, with health.
Our objectives for the next year are to; improve our work with health partners,maximise opportunities for affordable housing, support people to live at home (older people, people with learning disabilities, and mental health), and to promote their independence.
