The school has an active "eco – committee", made up of pupils, staff, parents and governors, who work together to make sure that the schools green ethos is put into practice.

Pupils in the school are encouraged to recycle, collect litter, and conserve energy by switching off lights and taps.  The school has also developed a special area with a pond to encourage wildlife, and are hoping to have encouraged frogspawn this spring.

Cllr Kirsty Jerome, Executive Member for Education and Schools, said: "It's so important to teach young people the importance of being environmentally aware, so I'm very pleased to hear that Beddington Infants staff and pupils are doing so much to stay green."

Eco-Schools is run to encourage schools from all over the world to become more sustainable.
