Petting Zoo Comes to Oakleigh - 06.07.09

A petting zoo will be entertaining the older residents of Oakleigh care centre and their family and friends on Saturday 11 July.

A collection of Kune-kune pigs, goats, sheep, lambs, birds and rabbits will be in the garden at Oakleigh to celebrate Take Part, Take Pride week.

One Oakleigh resident, Gladys Border said: "I love animals, especially dogs and donkeys.  I lived in Norfolk when I was young and was brought up with animals so having the petting zoo will be great."

There are well over 100 fantastic events lined up this year's Take Part, Take Pride festival, showcasing the people and groups whose inspiring work help to make Sutton such a great place. There's something for everyone, in all parts of the borough – from singing and dancing to sport, heritage walks to inline skating and lots of family events to enjoy.
