Sutton Students Top of the Class at A-Level - 20.08.09

Sutton's students have excelled once again with an impressive set of A-level results, confirming its position as one of the top performing boroughs in the country at A-level.

This year's results maintained the very high standards achieved by Sutton's schools in previous years with an overall pass rate (A-E) of over 99%. This is above the UK national average of 97.5%.

In Sutton, 64.9% of students scored A and B grades - that's well above the national average for As and Bs of 51.7%.

Once again, Sutton has excelled at A-level and shown it fully deserves its reputation as a place with the best schools in the country. I congratulate all our young people on their wonderful achievements. The students have worked really hard and they should be proud of what they have achieved. Well done to them and their teachers, parents and carers who have supported them along the way."

Cllr Ruth Dombey, Deputy Leader of Sutton Council said: "Once again, Sutton has excelled at A-level and shown it fully deserves its reputation as a place with the best schools in the country.
