The children decided to they wanted to help people in Haiti after a special assembly was held to talk about the tragedy. Over a period of three weeks pupils raised money by doing jobs for their families such as tidying their rooms. A sum of money was also raised from a benefit lunch held by staff.

Cllr Tony Brett Young, Executive Member for Learning Services on Sutton Council says: "The generosity of these children is truly heart warming.

"I urge people to follow the example of these children and continue giving money to help Haiti after this horrendous disaster."

Headteacher Pauline Cook says: "The children really wanted to do their bit to help the people of Haiti. I am so proud of the effort they have put in to raising so much money for this cause."
