The skies may have been grey, but the mood was exuberant for the launch of Sutton's third Take Part, Take Pride community festival.

Mayor, Cllr  Brendan Hudson and Sutton Council Chief Executive Paul Martin were joined on stage by Nonsuch High School Street Dance Team. Representatives from groups taking part in the week-long events spoke about why they got involved. "Take Part, Take Pride involves the environment in all senses: built up areas,  heritage buildings and green spaces. This week truly celebrates the people and places in Sutton, past, present and future".

Later in the afternoon, Deputy Leader of the Council, Cllr Colin Hall was  introduced to  local Indian dance group, Sutton Subrang.
