Housing

Includes independent living - this means young people having choice, control and freedom over their lives and the support they have, their accommodation and living arrangements.

Encompass

The route for referral for Learning Disability accommodation is through a referral to housing by the Adult learning Disabilities Team in Social Services.  However there is a very small number of properties dotted around the Borough, and these rarely become available.

To apply for supported housing, a Universal Referral form needs to be completed and emailed to the Pathways team at Encompass.

Applications to the housing register are assessed when received and will depend on the individual's current living circumstances although the likelihood of being rehoused through the register is very small due to the lack of properties becoming available and competing priorities for housing.

Applicants must be 16 to register but must have capacity to understand and sign a tenancy agreement which cannot be held until the age of 18 without a guarantor.
