Website planned maintenance
We will be making some upgrades to the Sutton website on Wednesday 29 March from 5pm for approximately 3 hours. If you need to use the website, please try again later. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
We can provide services to help you or your elderly relative to stay at home. You might be surprised at how many people are able to stay in their own homes for most or all of their lives by taking a few measures to ensure their well-being and safety.
When people live with a serious health problem or disability, or as they get older, it can become difficult for them to get around in their homes, and to independently and safely complete everyday tasks such as washing and dressing, cooking and cleaning, and going out.
Occupational therapy staff help people in Sutton of all ages who have physical, mental or learning disability, as a result of birth, accident, illness or ageing, to do the things they want to do. These could be daily activities that many of us take for granted, from grocery shopping or brushing you teeth, to more complex activities such transfers from a chair, bed ,bath, managing your stairs, accessing your home, caring for children, succeeding in studies or work or maintaining healthy life.
Do you have a long term disability? If so, Sutton's occupational therapy team may be able to help you overcome difficulties such as climbing the stairs, getting into and out of the home or in and out of bed, chair or toilet.
This may be through supported assessment, advice, specialist equipment or adaptations, to help you to maintain maximum independence in your home and in your life.
