London Business Hub

The London Business Hub helps develop your business idea. It can help you access a range of support to start, sustain and grow. This includes free 1:1 support from an advisor for eligible businesses.

British Library

Offers support for small business owners, entrepreneurs and inventors. It can help you start up, protect and grow your business.

Business Disability Forum 

The Smarter London SMEs service provides free support and advice to small businesses on disability and how it relates to their organisations.

BT skills for tomorrow

BT skills for tomorrow have partnered with leading organisations in their respective fields to bring business courses and resources for free.

Capital Enterprise

Capital Enterprise provides a new free of charge mentoring service for London's ambitious growth businesses.

Department for International Trade

The Department for International Trade offers exporting opportunities.

Enterprise Europe Network

The Enterprise Europe Network helps business grow on an international scale.

Help to Grow

Help to Grow is 12 week management course to help your business reach its full potential. It's 90% funded by the Government and provides free impartial support for digital performance. There is also a 50% discount to buy approved software.

Innovate UK

Innovate UK provides funding opportunities and access to grants.

London Business Growth Programme

London Business Growth Programme is a 3 month accelerator programme. It works with businesses in the creative, financial, business services and tech, urban innovation and life sciences sectors.

Mayor's International Business Growth Programme

The Mayor's International Business Growth programme can help your business reach its international growth ambitions.


HMRC’s new GOV.UK page summarises items that customers running their own business should explore and could help them keep more of what they earn.

Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme

The Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme offers start-ups and business entrepreneurs a route to source early-stage funding.

Virgin Startup

Virgin Startup provides personal loans for founders looking to start or grow their business. Every funded founder receives 12 months support as part of The Funded Club.

Employability and Skills

South London Careers Hub

The South London Careers Hub links local business representatives and business leaders to schools and colleges. This helps to develop a talent pool of young people.

The project is seeking schools or colleges to join the hub and volunteers to become Enterprise Advisers.

The Skills for Life campaign has training and employment schemes available for businesses. It can help boost their workforce capabilities, including apprenticeships, traineeships and T-Levels.

Mayor's Good Work Standard

Sign up to the Mayor’s Good Work Standard. Benefits include reputational gain and helping your business recruit and retain the best skills and talent.

National Apprenticeship Service

The National Apprenticeship Service looks at the benefits and help available to employers by hiring an apprentice.

If your business would benefit from taking on an apprentice and does not currently pay the Levy, email Sutton Council may be able to transfer its Levy funds to pay for the assessment and training of the apprenticeship.
