Sutton Inclusion Centre

Based at Northspur Road, Sutton, Surrey, SM1 2BF, the Sutton Inclusion Centre is where the Support and Inclusion Team provides an appropriate work space for the specialist healthcare services provided by the Learning Disability Community Team.

The Centre (built to support a maximum capacity of 35 people including support staff) meets the assessed needs of people who are citizens of Sutton, with appropriate support from both paid and unpaid carers where needed. The Centre will be used flexibly throughout the day and will develop services that run into the night and weekends to fit in with people's chosen lifestyles.

Focusing on supporting people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, that is both stimulating, fun, and aimed at developing their skills, this enables people to take as active and independent a role in their community as possible. The support team includes creative therapists (music and drama) and physiotherapists with use of facilities including an aqua therapy pool, specialist equipment including sensory rooms, IT suites and group rooms.

Aims of the service:

  • Enable people to build strong communities for themselves and increase their independence.
  • Support people to contribute in a positive way to their local community.
  • Help people to access community and specialist facilities to have healthy, fulfilling and enjoyable lives.
