The VOA are responsible for assessing Council Tax bands and you do not need the services of a third party to check on the banding. The Valuation Office Agency can be contacted at www.voa.gov.uk

To ensure that discounts and exemptions applied to Council Tax accounts are correct, we regularly complete data matching exercises. Council Tax and what it pays for

Council Tax is collected by the Revenues Department and applies to all domestic properties, owned or rented (including council properties, mobile homes and houseboats). The amount you pay depends on your personal circumstances, the size and type of property and what band it is in.
