Local Development Framework (LDF)
The council has prepared a spatial strategy and planning policy framework for the future development of the Borough called the Local Development Framework (LDF).
The council have recently commissioned Boyer Planning to carry out a 'Town Centres and Economic Development Assessment' to support the preparation of the new Local Plan. This document will be a key piece of evidence that will inform the preparation of the council's future retail and town centre policies. As part of the this assessment 'NEMS Market Research' will be conducting a household telephone survey with residents in Sutton to find about about their shopping habits and preferences, on behalf of the council.
If you are contacted, and would like to discuss this with officers first, please send an email to email@example.com. Alternatively, please contact:

Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG)
All planning authorities are required to maintain an up-to-date local evidence base on the key social, economic and environmental characteristics of their areas, in order to deliver a sound LDF. In building up the following local evidence base, the council has had regard to the Evidence Base and Monitoring Framework and Soundness Self-Assessment Toolkit published by the Planning Advisory Service (PAS) in October 2007.
A comprehensive list of all reports of study and other background documents making up Sutton's LDF evidence base, including Borough surveys undertaken by the council or by consultants on behalf of the council, is available in the Examination Library.
