Who can foster?
If you are over the age of 24 and have a spare room then you could foster for Sutton Council!
Please feel free to get in contact no matter what your background. It doesn’t matter if you are; married, single, in a civil partnership, have children, or do not have any children - Sutton Council would like to hear from you. So please feel free to get in contact no matter what your background.
Becoming a Foster Carer
In order to become a Foster Carer you will need to go through an assessment process. This is a statutory process that Sutton Council will have to follow.
There are two stages to this assessment:
Stage 1 is intended to provide basic information about you.
Stage 2 is more in depth and aims to understand more about you and your ability to care for children and young people.
We aim to carry out the assessments in the shortest time possible, however our focus always remains on ensuring we are finding the best carers for our children and young people.
