The law on Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) changed in September 2014. Following this, we had to change our name to reflect the SEN Code of Practice 2014. While we're updating the website to reflect these changes you can contact us on 020 8770 4541 or email email@example.com.
Sutton IAS Service, formerly the Sutton Parent Partnership Service, provides confidential, impartial, information, advice and support to parents/carers, children and young people with special educational needs and disability (SEND). A young person is an individual over compulsory school age (16) and under 25.
We believe that children with SEN are most likely to achieve their full potential when parents, schools, the local authority and other professionals work together.
Our aim is to ensure that your voice is heard and that your are actively involved in any decisions. We do not tell you what to do or make decisions on your behalf.
You might also find it useful to read SEND: guide for parents and carers which explains:
- What special educational needs and disability (SEND) are
- What SEN support means
- What an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Needs Assessment/Plan is
- When and how your child's statement of SEN will be transferred to a Educational, Health and Care (EHC) Needs plan
Access Sutton's Local Offer for more information on local activities, schools and services.
