Textiles and Battery collections -

From April 2017, we will collect textiles and batteries weekly.

Important: Please bag these items separately and do not put them in your bin/box as they will not be recycled or reused.

Textiles

Textiles will be collected every week when placed in an tied carrier or clear bag next to the recycling bin/box.

The following items will be collected as textiles:
  • clothing
  • bed linen and blankets (but not duvets or pillows - take these to the tip please)
  • Towels
  • curtains
  • handbags
  • paired shoes
We cannot take:
  • duvets
  • pillows
  • cushions
These items should be taken to the Reuse and Recycling Centre.

Batteries

Household batteries will be collected every week when placed in a open carrier or clear bag next to the recycling bag/box.

You can also check your local supermarket as most stores now accept used batteries.

What are we collecting?

  • AAA
  • 9v
  • Button
  • mobile phones batteries
We cannot accept:
  • children’s ride on toy batteries
  • sealed lead acid / gel batteries
  • car batteries
  • motorbike batteries
  • industrial batteries
These items should not be placed in either your recycling or non recyclable waste containers. They should be disposed of safely at the Reuse and Recycling Centre.
