Severe weather warning

The Met Office has issued a Level 3 ‘Cold Weather Alert’ for London and South East England.

There is a 90% probability of severe cold weather/icy conditions/heavy snow between 9pm on Friday 16th March and 9am on Tuesday 20th March in parts of England. This weather could increase the health risks to vulnerable patients and disrupt the delivery of services.

Helping the homeless

If you are worried about a rough sleeper in the extreme weather, then here is how you can help:

  • Be extra vigilant in looking out for homeless people during cold weather.
  • Report anyone sleeping rough in freezing conditions to the council (on 020 8770 5000), or contact StreetLink or Sutton Community Works.
  • Call 999 in the event of an emergency.
  • Donate or volunteer with a homeless charity.
