Nationality Document Return Service

The Nationality Document Return Service allows online applicants the opportunity to retain original supporting documents.

Fee £ 40.00 per applicant includes up to 30 A4 photocopies. Further £2.50 for each set of up to 10 additional photocopies.

To use this service please follow these steps:

Step 1. Make an online application form AN(Adult) form MN1(child) and pay the Home Office fee online

Step 2. Attend at Sutton Register Office within 10 working days with the following:

  • Application checklist and PNN reference
  • All supporting documents
  • Referee page of application with photograph attached

*Be aware that as this is a walk-in service, should there be a high demand at the point at which you arrive, London Borough of Sutton can offer no guarantee that you will be seen.

IMPORTANT: Handwritten AN or MN  forms cannot use the Nationality Document Return Service or apply for british passport at this stage.

Joint Citizenship and Passport Application Service

If you have made an online application to the Home Office (Form AN, Form MN1) , You are now able to apply for your UK passport at the same time as your citizenship application.

Please bring with you the completed passport application and passport payment form.

Passport applications are available at the Post Office

This easy, efficient service has been developed in partnership with the Home Office. If your citizenship application is successful and a ceremony is attended, your new passport will be dispatched to your home. The service costs an additional £15.00.

Guidance for passport application

  1. Applicants should complete sections 1,2,3,4,6 (if applicable)
  2. The photographs submitted with both applications must be identical (i.e from the same sitting) and comply with the photo standards as described in the published guidance. Applicant’s name should be written on the back of the photographs.
  3.  Section 1: Any applicant within 6 months of their 16th birthday at the time of the application must attend the appointment in person.
  4.  Section 2: Please do not enter a mobile phone number in section 2 of the application form. Please enter it in section 8 instead.
  5. Section 4: Grandparents’ details are not required.
  6. The payment mandate on page 25 of the application guidance must be completed. Please ensure that the security number of the card is entered in the appropriate box.
  7. If you are unsure about any requirements leave the section of the form blank and complete it at your appointment.

Please note: Please be aware that the fees for both the Nationality Document Return Service (NDRS) and Joint Citizen And Passport Application (JCAP) Services will be taken at the time you are seen and card payments ONLY will be accepted. We will not accept cash.
