European passport return service
Using this service, introduced by the Home Office, European passport holders can now retain their passport when submitting an application for permanent residence.
This service is only available to sole applicants, in person and at:

St Nicholas Way
European Passport Return Service (EPRS) applicants can call in at Civic offices between 9-12pm daily; however the Sutton register service is closed from 12.30 on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.

The fee payable is £20 per application.
To use this service please follow these steps:
Step 1 - make an online application to prove your right to reside in the UK as an EU citizen online, please read all the information and note that there is a fee of £65 which you will need to pay the Home Office.
Step 2 - attend at Sutton Register Office by appointment within 10 working days with the following documents:
- application checklist and PNN reference
- 2 passport sized photographs
- copy of application
- other original supporting documents as stated on their checklist
Step 3 - Your passport will be copied and returned to you. The application and other supporting documents will be sent using Royal Mail Special Delivery. A charge will be made for postage dependent on weight.
