Houses - waste collection service

Houses - your collection service explained

About 80 per cent of households in the borough are on the ‘Kerbside Houses Collection Service'.

When is your recycling and rubbish collected?

Collections start from 6am and finish at 8.30pm.

  • Food waste is collected every week
  • Recycling is collected on alternate weeks (paper and card one week; plastics, glass, cans and cartons the next)
  • Rubbish (non recyclable waste) is collected every two weeks

Use our postcode checker to view a collection timetable for your property.
Every household in the borough was sent a 12-month collection timetable in March 2017. An update to the timetable will be sent to all households before Christmas each year.

Where to put your waste bins ready for collection

Please make sure your recycling and rubbish containers are put at the edge of your property, close to the public pavement but not on it, so they can be seen clearly by our collection crews.
