Grass cutting

Overgrown grass on verges or in parks

We are working hard to catch up on our grass cutting. The warm, wet weather has been great for the grass but has meant that we haven't been able to keep up with it.

We cut approximately 438 hectares of grass across the borough including:

  • bowling greens, cricket pitches and football pitches
  • verges
  • 86 parks and open spaces
  • 7 cemeteries and churchyards

We aim to keep grassed areas looking neat and tidy; cutting is not based on set frequencies. If you would like to contact us about a park or verge that has not been cut or appears to be overgrown please complete our report grass cutting form. This will be looked at to see if we can schedule a cut any sooner.

Verges

During the peak growing season (April to June) grass verges are cut twice a month
