The Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) is the tool the council uses to ensure officers think about proposed policy and service changes and how they will disproportionately, positively or negatively impact the 7 protected groups. It is the mechanism through which the council demonstrates compliance with the Equality Act 2010, Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 and Localism Act 2011.
Completing an EIA and complying with the duty is important because;
- It is good practice in policy and strategy to have equality considerations at the forefront of our work
- It offers opportunity for stakeholder involvement in council decisions
All of our EIA’s will be published on this page.
