If you want to sell, or offer to sell, any items or services in the street, you will need a Street Trading Licence.
Single Day and Speciality Markets
If you are looking at applying for a Single Day Street Trading Licence or a Speciality market within the Borough of Sutton, please note the following before submitting a licensing application, a completed application must be received a minimum of 10 working days before the first day of trading is to take place. The police, highways authority and ward councillors may be consulted on the application and any views received will be considered by the licensing authority. Consultation will always take place if street trading has never been undertaken from that location before.

Under the London Local Authorities Acts 1990 (as amended) annual Street Trading Licences are can only be issued for the following streets:
- High Street, Sutton
- The Market Wrythe Lane - Rosehill
You may also apply for a temporary Street Trading Licence to allow you to trade for up to 6 months. There are different types of temporary licence, including:
- Casual traders in High Street
- Mobile Food Traders
- Trading in cars
- Shop front trading
- Buskers selling goods
- Pavement Cafés
Applications for a Street Trading Licence are subject to payment of the required fee.
