Whether beginning your journey in Sutton as a student, newly qualified social worker or manager, Sutton is committed to ensuring that you receive the right support to help you with your future career development. 

Sutton operates a performance-related pay scheme and all employees in Sutton undertake annual appraisal meetings with their line manager to set targets and consider future development opportunities. 

Sutton has an ASYE Academy for newly qualified social workers. This is a joined-up programme for children and adult social workers offering maximum opportunity to develop your social work practice and knowledge from a whole family perspective. If you have recently completed or are in the process of finishing your social work qualification and enthusiastic about making a difference than Sutton can offer you a protected caseload for the duration of the ASYE programme, a comprehensive programme of learning and development opportunities and good reflective supervision. 

For postgraduates we offer opportunities for social workers to undertake Practice Education courses through Kingston University, as well as other specialist courses, such as Coaching and Mentoring. 

In addition to this Children’s Services offers 6 weekly Performance and Practice Meetings, an annual joint Adult and Children’s Conference and access to a Research and Practice microsite.
