This is a quick, healthy, affordable and non-polluting way to travel. Cycle training is FREE to everyone living or working in the borough and all schoolchildren.
Every school is given the opportunity to take part in cycle training for their year 5 and 6 classes, and we have recently trailed the delivery of enhanced cycle training to secondary schools. This gives those children who missed the training in primary school another chance, and builds on their skills to enable them to make the longer school journey safely.
Cycle training is delivered in 3 levels, and is open to adults and children:
- Basic skills and learn to ride
- The ability to plan and make a journey on quiet roads
- The more advanced skills covering route planning, hazard awareness, and busy main roads and one way systems
Find out more or book training at Cycle skills sessions.
