Libraries, culture and leisure
Leisure centres will be closed from Monday 23 March 2020
From Monday 23 March, for the foreseeable future, the borough’s leisure centres - Cheam, David Weir, The Phoenix Centre and Westcroft - will be closed. This is out of concern for the health of our community and in response to national public health advice.
We understand that physical activity is important to both physical and mental health. We encourage residents to make use of Sutton’s parks and green spaces during this period. It’s important that if you do, you follow the government advice on social distancing which says that you can go for a walk outdoors if you stay more than 2 metres from others.
Heritage Houses in Sutton now closed
Sutton Council has now closed for the foreseeable future the borough’s Heritages Houses - Honeywood, Whitehall and Little Holland House. This is out of concern for the health of our community and in response to national public health advice.
Libraries in Sutton are now closed for the foreseeable future, in response to national Public Health Advice.
During this period, Sutton Libraries continue to provide access to a wide range of ebooks, audiobooks, newspapers and magazines via our online catalogue. These are all available for free for members. New users can sign up online.
Other changes to support customers during this period include:
Extending the expiry date of any cards due to expire before 30 June 2020
Automatically renewing all borrowed items until 30 April 2020
Waiving new fines until 30 April 2020
Civic Office Reception
There is a limited number of PCs available in the Civic Office reception in on the ground floor of the Civic Office. These are only for use in very urgent situations and we ask residents to avoid coming to reception if it is at all possible and to try and resolve any issues either online or by telephone.
Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping our community safe.
