Top tips for eating out

  1. Make a reservation - book ahead

  2. Don’t be afraid to ask what steps the restaurant have taken to keep you safe. Each restaurant will have completed a risk assessment. If they have reduced the number of tables in the restaurant to keep a two metre distance and are taking peoples details for Test and Trace, they are most likely on the right track.

  3. Stay local - local businesses will appreciate your support. Social distancing regulations mean that capacity on local transport is lower. Staying local means avoiding any challenges in social distancing on trains and buses.

  4. Keep up to date with guidelines. For example the rule of 6. From Monday 14th September, people from different households should not meet socially in groups of more than six.

  5. Wash hands regularly with soap, or use hand sanitiser if this is not possible.

  6. Keep two meters distance between you and people from outside of your household

Top tips for shopping

  1. Shop local: Social distancing regulations mean that capacity on local transport is lower. Staying local means avoiding any challenges in social distancing on trains and busses.

  2. Follow any floor markings and instructions, keep an eye out for new entrance and exit signs. These have been added to keep us safe and reduce the spread of the virus.

  3. Keep two metres distance where possible from people outside of your household.

  4. Wash your hands: You should wash your hands with soap before you leave your home and immediately after you return. Try to avoid touching your face while you’re out and about.

  5. Use contactless to pay: If possible, use contactless payment rather than cash or by entering your PIN number.

  6. Wear a mask

  7. Avoid long queues where possible and always keep two metres distance between yourself and the person next to you in any queue.

  8. Be mindful of other shoppers, if other people aren’t wearing facemasks they may have a health concern that prevents them from doing so. If everyone who can do wears a mask we can help control the spread of the virus. At all times be kind, these are challenging times for everyone.
