Disabled Persons Freedom Pass

The London borough of Sutton issue freedom passes to disabled people.

Adults and children over the age of 5 who meet the criteria should apply to London Borough of Sutton, Civic Offices, St Nicholas Way, Sutton, Surrey, SM1 1EA. Telephone 020 8770 4537.

An application form will be sent to you on request or can be collected from civic offices.

Residence: Your permanent place of residence must be within the London Borough of Sutton.

Permanent Disability: Freedom Passes are issued in line with the central principle of the Equality Act (2010) definition. The types of disability that enable people to claim the statutory minimum are those which are permanent or which have lasted at least 12 months and which have a substantial effect on a person’s ability to carry out normal day to day activities.

Disabled Persons Railcard

The Disabled Persons Railcard is for people with a disability that makes travelling by train difficult.

You will qualify if you:

  • received Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • received Disability Living Allowance (DLA) at either:
    • the higher or lower rate for the mobility component, or
    • the higher or middle rate for the care component
  • have a visual impairment
  • have a hearing impairment
  • have epilepsy
  • receive Attendance Allowance or Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
  • buy or lease a vehicle through the Motability scheme

Taxicard

Taxicard is a scheme for London residents with serious mobility impairments or who are severely sight impaired.

The Blue Badge Scheme

A Blue Badge will help you to park close to your destination, either as a passenger or driver. 

The badge is intended for on-street parking only.
