Neighbourhood Grants - what could your local group do with £1000?

Neighbourhood Grant Each Local Committee can allocate Neighbourhood Grants of up to £1000 to clubs and community groups delivering projects that benefit the residents of their local area.

The aims of the grant to are to promote community and voluntary activity in the local area, foster sustainable projects and support activities that the whole community can participate in.

Applications are welcome from voluntary, community and self-help groups who are formally constituted. Groups should apply to the relevant Local Committee where their project will be delivered and may be invited to a local committee meeting to talk about their project.

Examples of projects that have been successfully funded by Neighbourhood Grants include:

  • One off start up costs to create a voluntary, community group or organisation
  • One-off events such as fun days, winter fairs and clean-up days
  • Training courses involving members of the local community
  • Publicity or merchandise to advertise projects, Group or events
