Statement regarding reports of stabbing overnight

A Sutton Council spokesperson said: "Our thoughts of course are immediately with the patient in hospital, their family and friends. We're supporting the Metropolitan Police Sutton with their enquiries and will do all we can to help. 

"Sutton is usually an incredibly safe borough with very low levels of crime meaning events like this are rare. We'll continue to work with the local police and community safety colleagues to help ensure all neighbourhoods in the borough remain safe."
