Winners of 2019 Sutton in Bloom competition revealed

The winners and runners-up of this year’s Sutton in Bloom competition were presented with their awards, on Thursday 18 July.

The winners and runners-up of this year’s Sutton in Bloom competition were presented with their awards, on Thursday 18 July, by the Mayor of Sutton, Cllr Muhammed Sadiq, at a ceremony held at Beddington Park Pavillion.

Prizes were awarded in six categories: Best Front Garden, Best Community Garden, Best Business Frontage, Best Allotment Garden, Best School Garden, and Best Container Garden.

The winners, runners-up and third prize (where awarded) in each category were as follows:

Best Front Garden
Winner: Mr & Mrs Fawcett
Runner Up: Dr Philip Howard
3rd Place: Jeannie McNicholas

Best Business Frontage
Winner: The Railway Tavern
Runner Up: Sutton Business Centre

Best Community Garden
Winner:  Kevin Plicio, Yourspace Sutton
Runner Up:  Quentin Sadler, Wimborne Close
3rd Place: Aliya Phelps Gardiner, Cheam Kitchens
 
Best Allotment Garden
Winner: Buckland Way, Plot Number 18/19, Kanagaratnam Sivabalam
Runner Up:  Chaucer Gardens, Plot Number 180, Astrid Svindland

Best School Garden 
Winner: Rainbow Unit, Green Wrythe Primary School
Runner Up: Muschamp Primary School
3rd Place: All Saints Church of England Primary School

Best Container Garden 
Winner: Debbie Thomas
