The borough will mark the occasion in Sutton Town Centre led by Her Worshipful the Mayor and the Council’s Chief Executive.

Buckingham Palace has announced that a national minute's silence will mark the start of the funeral at 3pm. Members of the public are encouraged to watch the event at home or online and make donations to charity instead of laying flowers in public. An online Book of Condolence has also been opened for Sutton residents to sign if they would like to.

Sutton’s councillors will also pay tribute to His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and his connection with the borough at the next meeting of the Council on Monday 19 April.

His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh was a pupil at Cheam School in the 1930s in Cheam Village. The school was located originally in Whitehall Historic House before it moved to Headley in Berkshire.
