"On Monday evening [2 March] we approved the Council's budget for this coming year. We're ambitious for our borough and our budget clearly lays out our ambitious plans.
"We know, because you told us, that you want clean streets, lovely parks and safe places, and we have to balance those important priorities with the needs of some of the most vulnerable people living in our borough.
"The national crisis in adult social care means that the Government has given us permission to increase council tax to meet the growing needs of the elderly, people with learning disabilities, people with mental health issues. We're determined to ensure that they have all the services they need.
"Council tax supports some of the most vulnerable people living in our borough and helps us deliver the services that we all value."
