The team

  • carries out ecological management within Sutton's nature reserves to:
    • protect
    • maintain
    • enhance
    • ensure wildlife-friendly habitats for flora and fauna
  • educates children and adults about the local environment and wildlife
  • runs events at Sutton Ecology Centre
  • promotes awareness and understanding through delivering guided walks and talks around the borough
  • advise the planning department on any wildlife issues relating to planning applications
  • maintains up to date, accurate and accessible records of the habitats and species in the borough
  • coordinates actions that can help wildlife through the Biodiversity Strategy
  • contribute towards delivery of the Environment Strategy dealing with nature
