96% of Sutton students secure preferred secondary school place

96% of children in Sutton have secured a preferred secondary school place this year, compared with a London average of 94%.

A total of 89% of Sutton pupils were offered a place at one of their top three preferences of secondary school, compared to a London average of 90%. 

69% of Sutton pupils received their first preference school, compared to a London average of 71%.

Councillor Marian James, Lead Member for Children’s Services, said: “We have excellent schools here in Sutton. Thanks to our close working with these schools, we have once again been able to offer every Sutton child a secondary school place.

“I wish all of our students well as they prepare for their transition from primary to secondary school.” 

Parents and carers who applied online will receive an email in the evening of 2 March notifying them to log on to their account and check their outcome at www.eadmissions.org.uk 

Those who did not apply online will either receive an email or a letter notifying them of their outcome.

Families who do not receive a first preference offer are provided with information on the maximum distance offered from each school, frequently asked questions and contact details for schools and the Council.
