Sutton Council has secured TfL funding for the Beddington North TfL Major Scheme project. This is being matched by Sutton Council council who have developed designs for the Beddington North Major Scheme. In partnership with TfL and in consultation with the local community and business improvement district, designs focus on delivering improvements to Beddington Lane and Hilliers Lane, making it better for pedestrians and cyclists, and providing more travel choices for local businesses and residents. The project will also significantly enhance the appearance of the area.
The final proposal and illustrative drawings can be viewed whilst the works are taking place:

The first phase of the Beddington North TfL Major Scheme construction in the Beddington Village area commenced on 26th February 2018 and was completed in late 2018.
During early 2020/21, there have been several emergency works carried out by UKPN and SGN. These had an impact on the Beddington North Major Scheme works, and delayed the programme.
While SGN continue to complete their works we are ready to recommence with the Beddington North Major Project by working alongside them. We are working in partnership with RJ Dance and works are currently underway near the Beddington Lane Tram Stop. As the construction programme progresses road closures will be required to ensure the safety of our workforce and to reduce the length of time for construction. Currently, we plan to utilise a rolling road closure to limit the extent of disruption to the area of Beddngton Lane commencing in October 2021 until March 2022.
Further information on the temporary road closures is available on the Council's Street Works Register webpage, or at One Network
